Five Senses Carnival Fun

Five Senses Carnival Fun

Students enjoyed a 3D movie using their sense of sight.

At Hometown Elementary, excitement filled the air during the kindergarten "Five Senses Carnival," where our kids embarked on a thrilling sensory adventure. At the end of their CKLA unit called “The Five Senses,” teachers created stations around each sense.  They use Jello powder to sprinkle on cards and guess the smell of each powder.  They decorated hands with different textures like rough, bumpy, smooth, soft and hard.  The taste center was a hit!!! Students loved the Sour Patch Kids and salty pretzels b but not many were a fan of the bitter broccoli.  At the end of the day, students used all five senses to watch and listen to popcorn popping, they smelled the aroma and tasted the salty treat all while watching a 3D film with their glasses.  Laughter echoed as friends shared their discoveries.  This festive celebration not only ignited curiosity and creativity but also fostered a sense of community, making it a memorable day for students, families, and teachers alike.
