Nursery Rhyme Olympics

Putting Humpty together again.

Students in Kindergarten recently finished their first unit in CKLA.  The students spent the last month learning classic nursery rhymes like "Little Bo Beep," "Hickory Dickory Dock," "This Little Piggy" and so many more.  When they completed the unit, they participated in a culminating experience called the Nursery Rhyme Olympics.  Students were seperated into four teams: Little Miss Muffet's Spiders, Little Bo Beep's Sheep, Team Teapot, and Humpty Dumpty's Eggs.  Once they began, teams had to work together to put Humpty together again! He fell off is wall and cracked into so many pieces.  Never fear, these little Olympians were able to work together to put him back together again.  Next up, Twinkle Twinkle's little stars got all mixed up! Teams put the stars back in order from 1 to 20.  Moving on to Little Bo Beep and her missing sheep....students hunted around the room for all of her hiding sheep.  Once they found them, they checked them off their recording sheet.  Finally, kinder friends matched up the rhymes in Hickory Dickory Dock's rhyme time.  Finding matching rhymes like bun and sun or pig and dig.  After completing all four events, these students were honored with their very own nursery rhyme medal.  Congratulations to all our gold medal winners!
