There is no better way to start your day than with breakfast treats with your grandparents. On Friday morning, our PTA hosted our annual Goodies with Grands event. Students were able to bring their grandparents to the school for muffins and pastries. One of the students said how excited they were to show their grandma where they go to school. "It was so fun to bring my grandma here! I wish she could stay all day!" she exclaimed. One grandmother beamed and told me her girls were "the light of my life!” The special event is a chance for those family members to take a glimpse into their grandchildren's school life.
Some grandparents had worked the entire evening shift, but still made it out to "Goodies with Grandparents" this morning. Every grandparent felt that it was so important to be at the event to honor their grandchildren. Several grandparents expressed what a joy it was to be a grandparent. The children beamed as they enjoyed coloring with their grandparents. Though the sweet treats were supposed to be the highlight of the morning, both the children and grandparents felt like spending time together and making memories together was the best part of the day.
