Mrs. Carey is our beloved CASE speech teacher. Over the summer, Mrs. Carey found a contest on line hosted by Simply Modern. There were more than 2,200 teachers from 49 states who applied and Simple Modern had to shut off a two-week nomination period after less than 24 hours! Mrs. Carey was randomly chosen as a finalist from that larger pool. There were 130,000 votes cast over the 10 day voting period, and 10 teachers from 7 different states won! Each winning teacher was awarded $500 of Amazon wish list items/supplies for their students, along with an incredibly generous donation from Simple Modern of 1500 student water bottles and 100 water tumblers for teachers and staff. Simple Modern says they exist to give generously, and they give 10 percent of all proceeds away each year. And, this year, they’ve also given more than 100,000 bottles away!
