Hometown student council students came up with the idea to beautify bathrooms! Students agreed that the bathrooms need a facelift and they should all just be “a bit nicer for students” said third grade teacher Mr. Carson. They all agreed that a unique fundraiser needed to be in place….a fundraiser we haven’t done before. The students came up with a “Pie-A-Teacher” fundraiser. Students in 3rd through 5th grade were able to buy tickets for the opportunity to pie Dr. Bencik, Mr. Carson, Ms. Smith and Ms. Mallon. One ticket cost 50 cents or you could purchase 3 tickets for $1.00. The student council students took turns at lunchtime collecting money and handing out tickets. During our “Get Ready for IAR” assembly, students were chosen to pie the teachers with pie crust filled with whipped cream.
Students raised just under $200! The next task is to have students help pick new paint colors for the bathrooms. Student council is also working with art teacher Mrs.Evans on getting student artwork to be hung up in each of the bathrooms.
