On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Hometown School hosted their annual Title 1 Family Literacy Night. This event is offered to all students and their families. Each family received a goody bag that had a schedule of of the evening's events. One station, "Love is in the Air" Bingo, offered students the chance to enhance their vocabulary skills by learning new words all while having fun playing BINGO! "Write From The Heart" had students and parents writing valentine letters to a family member or friend. "Stuck on You" Sticker Stories also helped students use expressive language skills to work on writing. "We Love Equations" brought the love of math into our literacy night. Students were shown how reading, writing and math all go hand in hand (or in this case...heart to heart). "Cupid's Cozy Reading Corner" left students in love with their stories and enjoying a quiet spot where they could dive into their favorite book. Teachers and staff ran the different stations and families had a LOVEly time with all the wonderful stations.
The literacy team worked very hard to put this evening together for our families. A huge thank you to Mrs. Sheedy, Mrs. Onik and Ms. Scheffler for hosting this night.
