Hometown's Special Guests

Hometown's Special Guests

Students and their Special Person played Alphabet Bingo in Kindergarten.

Hometown opened it's doors to some very special guests on Friday January 26.  Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, sisters, friends were invited to spend the morning with their student.  The day began at 8:45, when adults were welcome into classrooms and participated in morning meeting.  Morning meetings are a school-wide classroom management practice used to address students' social-emotional learning needs on a daily basis. Every morning, teachers gather their students to interact with one another and kick-off the day. While these daily warm-ups will look different in different classrooms most widely morning meetings includes these main elements:  Greeting, sharing, and an activity.  Teachers use morning meetings for the entire year as a way to build community while ensuring that each student feels heard, valued, and respected.  After morning meeting, students and guests participated in a variety of activities.  Kindergarten played Alphabet Farm Bingo, Fourth Grade shared their Living Museum Projects, Second Grade showed off Fun Friday in Physical Education.  Parents and guests got to see what a day is like at Hometown for their child.  It is a great way to build a strong home/school connection and give parents and caretakers a glimpse into the day to day happenings at our school.
