At this time of year, we reflect on all the gifts we have been given. We think about our blessings and we are so thankful for all we have. Hometown Elementary wants to give back to those in need this holiday season... and we did in a BIG WAY! Our annual staff Snowball Giving Tree was filled with the names of families in our community who could use a little extra love this season. Staff members filled the wishes for kids, moms, dads, aunts, uncles....helping create a very merry holiday. Our students were asked to donate a toy that would be given to a child who will be spending their holiday in the hospital. Our local community children's hospital will pass out presents to all patients this weekend. From Spiderman to Barbie...the toys came flowing in!! It was an overwhelming response from our staff, students and families. The children were grinning from ear to ear as they brought in their toys. This community outreach solidifies our philosphy at our school. There is truly no place like Hometown!!!
