The PBIS committee at Hometown School decided that good vibes among employees benefits the entire school environment. On Monday April 3, several staff members decided to plan an outing at Arena Lanes in Oak Lawn. Staff quickly found out that several people were VERY good, while others were better with bumpers. The purpose of PBIS is to encourage positive behavior within the school. The PBIS committee decided to carry this message beyond just students. Research shows that happiness and learning are tied very closely together...and what better way to find happiness that hanging out after work with some of your closest friends. One teacher commented, "It was so nice to find time to spend together outside of work. We are always so busy going different directions after work. This gave us the opportunity to catch up and spend time laughing and engaging." Laughter is good for the soul...and this will now become an annual tradition for the staff at Hometown School.
