This past Monday, Hannum School held its annual spelling bee, and the competition was exciting as ever. Sponsored by fourth grade teachers Mrs. Moran and Mrs. Kmiec, the event showcased the spelling skills of talented fifth grade students who had been preparing for weeks.
Mrs. Tomanich served as the official word caller, kicking things off with a practice round before launching into the official competition. The spelling bee lasted approximately an hour, narrowing the field down to just two students.
In a thrilling final round, Gabrielle Reese clinched first place by correctly spelling both "casserole" and "germinate". Ethan Agbo earned second place, while Kinzie McCain proudly took third.
