I Am Ready to Seas the Day kick-off assembly this past Thursday.
Hannum School's 3rd through 5th grade students dove into IAR testing season with a splash during a kick-off assembly led by Mrs. Doornbos. With the theme "I Am Ready to Seas the Day," the event was designed to boost confidence and motivation, all while tying into the beloved movie Finding Nemo.
Students were encourged to embrace testing with a fun, ocean-inspiring twist. Each spirit day is themed after a Finding Nemo character to keep energy high and minds focused. Themes included:
- Test Like a Squirt-full of energy and ready to ride the current!
- Chomp Down on This Test Like Bruce-Stay sharp and focused!
- Test Like Dory-Keep swimming, stat persistent!
- Crush It and Go With the Flow-Stay calm and do your best!
- Test Like Nemo-Believe in yourself and have confidence!
Mrs. Doornbos emphasized the importance of the IAR assessment, encouraging students to do their best and explaining how it helps both teachers and students grow. She also reviewed helpful test-taking strategies to support student success.
To keep the momentum high, the assembly included a fun quiz game reviewing key take-aways where students participated in fun relays if they answered the questions correctly. Students were also incentivized to take their time and use scratch paper. If they did this each day, teachers would give them a "punch" on their punch card, which would result in earning a small goodie bag each day. Each punch card also results in getting a ticket and the opportunity to win an even bigger raffle at the end of testing.
Best of luck to our amazing Bears-just keep swimming!!
