Is there a doctor in the house?

The first-grade team wrapped up an engaging CKLA unit focused on the human body, and the students celebrated their newfound knowledge with a lively interactive event.  Students explored various body systems, learned about the importance of hygiene and healthy habits that prevent the spread of germs and maintain overall wellness.

The students gathered together as "doctors" for a hands-on celebration that allowed them to apply their knowledge in fun and creative ways.  They rotated through different activity stations, each designed to reflect what they had learned during the unit.  They performed well-ness checks on stuffed animals, used Play-Doh to create models of the digestive system, built the nervous system using licorice red rope candy, and also using the classic "Operation" game, where students could practice their fine motor skills while learning the importance of careful and precise movements in medical procedures.  Additionally, they created healthy meal visuals using pictures to demonstrate their understanding of how to eat nutrionally.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Doc McStuffins made a special appearance to check in on the first graders and commend them on all they have learned.  Her presence added an extra layer of excitement and encouragement, reinforcing the importance of health and wellness in a fun and relatable way.

Special thanks to the first grade team of Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Wartman, and Mrs. Stahlzer for planning such a fun and memorable day for these students.
