Power Hour, as decribed by fifth-grade teacher Bob Strickland, is a dedicated time each morning from 7:25-8:25 for fifth-grade students to receive additional academic support. This hour is designed to help students who may need assistance with their homework or classwork, allowing them to catch up or get ahead in their studies. Mr. Strickland provides a welcoming environment where students can seek help on specific assignments, clarify concepts they be struggling with, or even redo assignments to improve their grades. This approach not only aids in academic performance but also fosters a sense of responsibility and encourages students to take onwership of their learning. Additionally, students can use this time to organize their desks or manage their materials, promoting good study habits and organization skills. With an average of 4-6 students participating each morning, Power Hour serves as a valuable resource for those who choose to take advantage of this opportunity. Kudos to Mr. Strickland for this great club!!
