First grade classrooms celebrated their CKLA end of unit on Fables particpating in Fable Olympics. These last few weeks, first graders learned that fables were meant to teach people valuable lessons. Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Wartman, and Mrs. Stalzer planned events that were themed after the fables that were read and learned about. Some of the fables that were read were: The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Maid and the Milk Pail, The Goose and the Golden Eggs, and Wolf in Sheep's Clothing just to name a few. The Olympic Games consisted of running away from Mr. McGregor, lunging for grapes like the fox, balancing a milk pail on their heads like Peggy and collecting golden eggs. Students had a great time wrapping up this fun and valuable unit with this active learning experience.
