Meet Grizz, Hannum's mascot
Introducing Grizz, the new mascot of Hannum School! For as long as anyone can remember, the school's mascot has been a bear, yet until recently, this beloved bear remained nameless. He has been shared among classrooms as a reward and his image can be found adorning walls throughout the school and on spirit wear. Alas, something has changed.
Under the suggestion of Ms. Doornbos, Hannum Principal, a contest was launched to officially name the Hannum bear. With contributions from both teachers and students, a list of potential names was compiled. After careful consideration, the options were narrowed down to four finalists before a school-wide vote was held. The outcome was a clear winner- Grizz.
Now, Grizz proudly represents Hannum at events and after school appearances. He serves as a symbol of motivation for good behavior, encouraging students to embody the PBIS core values of being respectful, responsible and safe. We are thrilled that the Hannum bear now has a distinctive name, chose by the very students he inspires every day.
