Spelling Bee Finalists
Hannum fifth graders were abuzz with spelling words!!! Fifteen fifth grade students started the journey practicing for the final showdown and only three students were left standing with one finalist. Mrs. Moran and Mrs. Kmiec were the spelling bee club sponsors. The participants met weekly using various games to get the students comfortable with the spelling word they may encounter at the bee. The Spelling Bee took over an hour with the judge, Mrs. Tomanich, going through almost 80 words. The final word that the finalist, Marco Mares spelled correctly for the win, was GEOGRAPHY. Micaela O'Connell placed second and Teagan Kern came in third. Congratulations to all for a job well done!
