Back to Basics Bootcamp
As Hannum Bears returned from Spring Break Mrs. Doornbos and Miss Turek held a PBIS refresher bootcamp during SEL times. Students reviewed arrival/dismissal behaviors, hallway behaviors, classroom behaviors, lunch/recess expectations and assembly expectations. Student volunteers were called up to demonstrate an example of how to behave in these settings and then a non-example of how students should not behave. Contrasting the two behaviors, really gives students a concrete example of how to behave appropriately in every school setting. Mrs. Doornbos added a fun challenge in between teaching Bear Behaviors such as a Egg Race, Lego Tower, Q-Tip Transfer, Shake it Out, Coin Flip, Cup Coin Stacking and Cereal Box puzzle. Many students were able to participate and demonstrate positive Bear Behaviors in the midst of these fun challenges. We know our Bears can do a beary good job as we enter the homestretch of this school year.
