Taste of Greece for Hannum 2nd grade students
Over 2800 years ago there lived a civilization of people called the Ancient Greeks. Second grade students have spent the last several weeks learning about Ancient Greece. Students learned that this civlization's model of government contributed to modern-day democracy and the continued tradition of the Olympics. Ancient philosophers such as: Socrates, Plato and Aristotle were also introduced. To wrap up the CKLA unit, students tried pomegranate seeds, golden apples, olive oil and pita bread which were all featured in the Greek Myths that were studied.
