The conductor (a.k.a Mr. Strickland) checks tickets so first grade students can board the Polar Express.
First grade students were greeted by train Conductor, Mr. Strickland, as Polar Express Day commenced this Thursday at Hannum School. Each students' ticket was checked before they embarked on their day-long adventure. The students enjoyed various Polar Express centers. One of the centers was a hot chocolate station, where students had the chance to make their own hot chocolate. They were provided with all the necessary ingredients and instructions to create a delicious cup of hot chocolate.
In addition to enjoying the hot chocolate and centers, students watched the Polar Express movie. Of course the book was read first so that the students could compare each version of the story. Overall, this themed story day added to the festive atmosphere of the season and provided students with a fun and engaging learning experience that they are certain to remember for many years to come.
