Last Thursday was a special day one of our lucky second graders, because she got to be the principal for a day with Mrs. McGovern! After each trimester, we do a special raffle for prize baskets that are put together by Miss Turek. One of the prizes was to be principal for a day and Victoria, a second grader, won. She was extremely excited and she took her duties very serious that day. She started the day by doing traffic duty with Mrs. McGovern followed by our morning announcements. Mrs. McGovern loved having a second set of eyes for lunch duty and bathroom monitoring. In the late afternoon, Mrs. McGovern and Victoria shared a special lunch together. Victoria was surprised about everything a principal does in a day! Mrs. McGovern said she enjoyed the company and all the laughs shared with Victoria. Overall, it was just a really great day. Besides lunch, Victoria’s favorite part was that she got to have a walkie talkie. Even though she never had to use it!
