Thankful for Hannum Traditions

Thankful for Hannum Traditions

As fall break drew near, Hannum had a lot to be thankful for. Students enjoyed many Thanksgiving and fall themed activities. First grade teachers were excited to have their annual Thanksgiving feast; especially after being unable to do it last two years. The Thursday before break, first grade students made their way to the multipurpose room , festively dressed, to take part in a Thanksgiving feast. The students enjoyed reading their fall poems for their parents and having a feast with their classmates and teachers. That isn’t the only event that took place! Third graders have spent the month of November learning about Tony Sarg, the creator of the Macy’s Day parade. They read about the many changes the parade had gone through to become the parade we know today. Not only did they read about the parade, but the students put on their own balloon parade through the halls of Hannum Elementary! Balloons became animals and characters and students really showed their creativity. Other grades levels lined the hallways clapping and cheering for the balloon parade. Hannum students and teachers are so thankful for these wonderful traditions!
