“Just make a mark and see where it takes you.” -The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds
September 15, 2022 was International Dot Day and Mrs. Fitzgibbon’s class found some fun ways to celebrate. Their day started by reading the book The Dot, a story about a girl who doesn’t believe she can draw but gains confidence because her art teacher helps her believe in herself. Mrs. Fitzgibbon’s students discussed the story and the main character's mindset. This story helped the class learn about the importance of having a growth mindset. Mrs. Fitzgibbon then challenged her class to create their own dot art and they really stepped up to the challenge! The dots were transformed into beautiful pieces of art that shows lots of confidence and "dots" of creativity!
