Every morning, students arrive at Hannum Elementary with smiles on their faces ready to learn. However, on days 1,2, and 5, there is always a bit more excitement in the hallways because these are the days we are joined by our encore teachers. Students look forward to these encore classes. Some even cheer when they find out they have an encore in the morning! That's because of the amazing work our encore teachers do at Hannum. Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Lee teach about different drawing techniques and artists. It's truly amazing to see the students' creations in the hallway. Mrs. Hemminger and Mrs. Glikis teach students how to play an instrument, how to dance to the rhythm of a song, and how to sing on key. Our concerts really show the amazing work they are doing in music class. Mrs. Lazinek and Mrs. Keblusek are our media specialists/librarians. Along with instilling a love of reading in our students, these teachers do a fantastic job teaching students about internet safety and how to use different online tools. Seeing students be so confident and efficient with 21st century technology is amazing. The work our encore teachers do really allows our students to explore their creativity.
