This past Thursday, Mrs. Hemminger and Mrs. Glikis put on the first ever Early Spring Concert. The concert featured chorus, Mrs. Robert's first grade class, second grade classes and third grade classes. Between first graders painting a rainbow on stage with scarves and second graders singing about the month of March, it really felt like Spring had arrived! Chorus started the concert by singing “The Star Spangled Banner.” They continued by singing three songs that they have been working on all year and it really showed! First grade then sang two songs, followed by second grade singing four songs, and third grade ended the show with three songs.
Students not only learned the lyrics but they also used props, learned multiple dance moves to accompany the lyrics, and played instruments! One of the third grade students was even a guest conductor for a song! Mrs. Hemminger and Mrs. Glikis did an outstanding job guiding students through the songs. It was evident from their smiles and energy that they loved watching their students show off their musical talents. Parents really enjoyed the show and they were beyond impressed with what their children have accomplished! The concert is a wonderful way for the arts to come alive at Hannum Elementary.
