Things are heating up at Covington, and no, it’s not just the spring weather, it’s the start of our Student Council Penny War! Students are buzzing with excitement as jars line the lunchroom, coins clink throughout the day, and friendly rivalries spark across grade levels.
Launched by our Student Council, the penny war is a fun competition where each grade tries to collect the most points by adding pennies to their jar, while “sabotaging” other grades with silver coins and dollar bills that subtract points. It’s a battle of brains, strategy, and school spirit, all wrapped into one big coin-filled adventure!
All proceeds from the penny war will go towards events that the student council will plan, making it a win-win for our school community. The grade with the most points at the end of the week will earn a classroom party!
So raid your couch cushions, check those backpacks, and bring on the change. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top. Let the penny war begin!
