This past week, our school hosted an exciting and educational Safety Day focused on fire safety. The event was a huge hit among students, filled with interactive and fun activities designed to teach important safety lessons.
The day began with a virtual firefighter house tour, where students were taken through the daily life of a firefighter and learned about the tools and equipment used to keep us safe. The virtual experience gave everyone a glimpse into the firehouse, from the shiny red trucks to the bunk areas where firefighters rest between emergency calls. Next, students participated in home fire safety workshops. These hands-on sessions taught everyone the importance of having a fire escape plan, how to check smoke detectors, and what to do in case of a fire. The information was both practical and eye-opening, giving students a chance to think about safety at home in new ways. Another exciting activity was a session on the life of a firefighter. Students learned about the dedication, courage, and hard work that goes into being a firefighter. The event wrapped up with students making thank you cards for local firefighters. The cards were filled with heartfelt messages, drawings, and colorful designs that will surely bring smiles to the firefighters who receive them.
