Fifth graders in Ms. Ricker's class recently participated in the “Me Museum,” where they showcased personalized items to express who they are to their classmates. Each student brought in two to three items that reflect their interests, heritage, and personal stories, from family photos to favorite plushies, art work and even sport medals.
Me Museum is aimed to foster self-expression and empathy. Students gave short presentations, explaining the significance of their chosen items to their classmates. This activity helps students build confidence and empathy as they share their identities with their peers.
