On Friday, November 10, 2023. We honored our veterans with a school wide assembly. The assembly paid tribute to veterans in the audience. Students and staff members who had family members or friends in the military were invited to stand and be recognized. The emotional moment created a sense of unity and appreciation among the entire school community. One of the highlights of the assembly was a special guest speaker David Schwoebel. Mr. Schwoebel is a D123 parent. With the help of our Covington Students he conducted the white table ceremony. The ceremony involved setting a small, round table with a white tablecloth, the table is set with symbolic items representing different aspects of the military members' sacrifice. The White Table Ceremony serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by military service members and emphasizes the importance of remembering and honoring their contributions to the nation. The assembly concluded with a heartfelt thank-you message from Mrs.Holland, expressing gratitude for the dedication of our veterans. Each veteran in attendance received a token rose of appreciation.
