This week Covington participated in Empathy Week. It was a week filled with fun themes such as,pajama day, hawaiin day, twin day and even sunglasses day! With each day having a special theme students were able to make connections with the theme on how to show more empathy towards others. Empathy is the awareness of the feelings of others. It allows students to validate others' feeling, imagine themselves in others' shoes and to even discover similarities. As we wrap up our empathy week we want students to remember that being empathetic towards other is a key tool in life because it allows students to see the world from another's perspective and develop compassion for others.
