Crochet Club!

Crochet Club!

After discovering their common love of crochet,Ms. Capriola and Ms. Rodriguez decided to start a club to promote and share their love of the craft. There are so many benefits to crochet. Learning a new skill can boost self-esteem and provide a sense of accomplishment. Crochet gives people a chance to sharpen those fine motor skills. Also it is a great ice breaker and helps build new friendships. Ms. Capriola and Ms. Rodriguez have only had a couple meetings but it is rolling along really well. A couple of the students already had a bit of experience. Even on the first meeting they started making chains, which is the first skill crocheters need to learn. They will be working on projects based on the skills and pace of the students, many types of projects will be worked on each week. They are hoping to get some headbands and scarves in the works over the next few weeks. They also have been teaching and talking about reading patterns, good places and websites for crochet patterns and even a bit of history of crochet. Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Capriola very much enjoy passing along their knowledge and skills to a new batch of crocheters.

If anyone in the Covington community has any crochet hooks or yarn they no longer need or want, we would be happy to take it off your hands. Extra stash is always appreciated and will be used.
