Fourth graders recently took a field trip to A River Thru History- The Des Plaines Valley Rendezvous where they experienced a living history reanactment of early American life, as it was on the Illinois frontier. Students got to meet fur trappers, settlers and crafts men along the banks of the Des Plaines River. Through this experience they got to hear exciting stories of our region and also see how crafts such as Dream Catchers are created. Students were most excited to learn a medieval times game known as "Nine Mens Morris" the games is a cross between chess and tic tac toe. Students loved being able to see the past come to life around them in this unforgettable experience!
