Back-to-School Extravaganza kicks off school year!

Families in the Oak Lawn and Hometown areas were in for a treat this past Saturday, August 26, as the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 hosted its "Back to School Extravaganza" at Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School. Throughout the day, an estimated 400-500 people made their way to the event, relishing the festivities. The free occasion, intended to celebrate the start of the new academic year, saw a steady stream of attendees from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Embracing its "fun for the whole family" promise, the event burst into life with activities that excited both kids and adults. Gincy Hartin's catchy tunes had everyone tapping their feet while the magic show left many wide-eyed in wonder. Add in the thrill of painting a school bus, diving into inflatables, navigating an obstacle course, and competing in lively carnival games. It was a day packed with memorable moments! Local vendors also set up shop, providing attendees an opportunity to explore products and services from around the community.
