Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! The beginning of a new school year, like the dawning of a new day, reminds us that the future holds infinite possibilities. We are very excited about the upcoming school year and the opportunity it brings to partner together with students and families in the Oak Lawn and Hometown community.
This school year we will encourage everyone in our learning community to embrace four (4) common themes:
- High Quality Teaching and Learning
- Safe and Supportive Schools
- A Thriving Workplace
- Strong Family and Community Partnerships
As a high performing and innovative school district, we are both optimistic and confident that each of these cornerstones will contribute to activating our mission of Learning Today for a Successful Tomorrow.
As we seek to develop clarity of purpose and a growing culture of excellence in School District 123, we plan to launch a new strategic planning process this year. The process will involve avid data-gathering, engaging collaborative discussions, and most importantly input from the School Board, staff, families, students, and community leaders. The plan will ultimately provide a clear and community generated blueprint of strategies and actions that will move our school system forward in a direction the will yield only the greatest results for our student’s future success.
We are proud that you are each a part of School District 123 and believe the best students, families, and staff learn here each day. We will continue to work hard and strive each day toward our current vision of becoming a Leader in Education Helping Students Achieve their Dreams and welcome you to join us in this venture. We maintain an open door philosophy in School District 123, so please stay connected. I wish you each a wonderful school year!
