Jayden Diaz, a CASE student at Hometown in District 123 was recently honored at the annual Infinitec awards dinner in Tinley Park. Diaz is a finalist for the Infinitec Southwest Student Technology Achievement Award.
“Jayden is well deserving of this award. He has not been in our program for long but is making tremendous progress with the AT supports that have been introduced. He enjoys communicating with staff and students using his augmentative communication supports and is also very excited to compose sentences on his own within the Clicker Sentences app,” said Janet Kennedy, AT specialist at District 123.
Jayden attended the dinner with his family and his nomination team of Janet Kennedy, his teacher, Shannon Merrion, his social worker, Cassie Cipriani and Kristen Dunford, Special Education supervisor. Jayden was very excited to bring the award to school to on Monday show all of his friends in Miss. Merrion’s class.
The goal of the Infinitec program is to celebrate the accomplishments of learners with disabilities who attend schools within the Infinitec Southwest Coalition area and who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in overcoming challenges and accomplishing personal goals using technology.
