In the past few weeks, second grade classes at Covington made the attempt to build the perfect Leprechaun Trap.
Students had the chance to work with their family and build a trap that could catch these tricky little creatures! The lesson on working in groups and communication was relayed in a fun way in an effort to try to outsmart the Leprechaun.
The traps were set up in three Covington classrooms on the night of March 16, in hopes of a lucky surprise come St. Patrick’s Day. Sadly the leprechauns only left a mess of the classrooms and students were not able to capture them! Even though the leprechauns escaped the traps students walked away from the experience with collaborative skills that will last a lifetime.
